Art deco movement rise in the 1920s, to the 30s become an international popular design style, affect the architectural design, interior design, furniture design, industrial product design, graphic design, textile design and clothing design and so on almost all aspects of the design, is a very important design movement in this century.

Driven by the rapid development of large industry and the increasing prosperity of commerce, the industrial design of Europe and the United States has gradually become mature. The new art and design movement of handicraft industry production has been unable to meet the requirements of universal mechanized production.
Designers, led by France, are standing in the new height of machinery production, to adopt new materials, new technology of modern architecture and various forms of industrial products and decoration beauty of new exploration, the scope mainly includes the construction, furniture, ceramics, ceramics, glass, textile, clothing, jewelry design, strive to under the premise of maintenance of mechanized production, make the industrial products more beautification.
Paris is the birthplace and center of the decorative art movement. In 1925, the decorative art exhibition was held in Paris, so the decorative art movement was named and set off a boom in European and American countries.

The Art Deco movement was a very special design movement conducted in France, the United States and Great Britain from the 1920s to the 1930s. Because this movement happened and developed almost at the same time as the modernist movement in Europe, the Art Deco movement was greatly influenced by it, with traces of it evident both in the use of materials and in the form of design.
From the perspective of the background of ideological development, from the ideological point of view, the democratic color and socialist background of the modernist movement have never happened in the decorative art arts movement.
Decoration art, especially the French decorative art movement, is largely is still the traditional design movement, although on modelling, on color, have new and modern content on decorative motivation, but its service object is still the upper society, is a minority of the bourgeoisie powerful, which emphasizes the design of democratization, emphasize the design of modernism stance is very different. Therefore, although the two movements occurred almost simultaneously and influenced each other, especially the influence of modernism on the decorative art art movement in form and material, they belong to two different categories with their own laws of development.
